BATANGAS CHURCH: Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine (Mass Schedule + How to Get There)

Batangas is a famous destination because of the many things you can do such as scuba-diving, beach-bumming, and hiking. The province is also home to many old churches that contain religious icons. One such place is the Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine.

You’ll find the Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine in Barangay Labac, Taal. The shrine serves as a shelter for the Virgin Mary’s 17th-century image. Devotees and locals alike hold this religious icon in high regard. It is also a pilgrimage destination for those looking to rekindle their faith or look for answers to their prayers. Although not as old and as big as the nearby Taal Basilica, it has its own charm.

The exterior of the church has columns, arches, bell towers, and crucifixes. As you walk inside, you will see the ceiling painted with Bible-inspired images. As you approach the altar, you’ll see images of angels and the Our Lady of Caysasay as its centerpiece.
