Lipa City is one of the three cities and also the most populous in Batangas, the other two are Batangas City and Tanauan City. It is a highly developed city compared to the rest of the areas in the province of Batangas. It is the hub for business and recreation. As Batangas’ emerging key city, it also has a good reputation when it comes to health care and medical facilities.
Lipa Cathedral, officially named Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian but also known as San Sebastian Cathedral, is the seat of the Archdiocese of Lipa. It is a Romanesque church located at C.M. Recto Avenue in Lipa City. Its origin can be traced back to April 1605, according to the Lipa City Tourism Council. The structure today has undergone a long history of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction. The cathedral boasts many significant features such as the entrance door with intricate carvings, the circular dome ceiling, towering walls and columns, a bell tower, and a garden called Paseo de San Sebastian. This is a noteworthy stop if you are planning a trip to Lipa.
